Today's decors are the raw material for tomorrow's decors
Securing the supply of raw materials is a major challenge for any equipment manufacturer. Leblanc Illuminations is directly involved: the structure of its decorations is made of aluminium, and the covering is made of composite materials. These materials must be consumed responsibly, ensuring that their environmental impact is minimized.
In recent years, rising raw material prices have directly impacted manufacturers. In addition to higher costs, shortages are also a risk.
At Leblanc Illuminations, solutions are already in place to use more sustainable components and more responsible and reusable raw materials. Thus, thanks to its proactive approach to reducing the environmental impact of its products, Leblanc Illuminations can state that today's decorations will, in part, become the raw material for tomorrow's decorations.
Renting and Reusing Decorations: An Economical and Responsible Solution for Local Authorities
Leblanc Illuminations has been offering decorations for rent for many years. In France, an increasing number of local authorities are choosing this option. Nearly half of Leblanc Illuminations' decorations are now rented. This offers several advantages: customers who opt to rent enjoy the benefit of refreshed decorations. After the season, the decorations are stored in the warehouses of Leblanc Illuminations, where they are tested, repaired, and cleaned before being used again.
Reconditioned Decorations, or How to Offer Professional Illuminations at Low Cost
After several seasons, some decorations are made available for sale at competitive prices. As with the decorations provided for rent, these are refurbished before being sold during the "special offers" events held twice a year by Leblanc Illuminations for its professional customers.
New Eco-designed Decors with Responsible and Recyclable Materials
The structures of Leblanc Illuminations are made from Hydro REDUXA aluminum, a low-carbon aluminum (with an impact of only 4 kg CO2 per kg of aluminum), as it is produced using renewable energy. Aluminum is infinitely recyclable, ensuring that all structural elements of the decorations are recycled through a dedicated recycling channel. At the end of their life, the structures of the decorations are once again raw material.
3D Printing: A Revolutionary Process for Making Decorations with A Small Environmental Footprint
The designs of the decorations are increasingly being produced using bio-sourced, recycled, and recyclable materials. For the past two years, Leblanc Illuminations has invested in a fleet of robots at its factories. This new technology, known as e-deco, allows the printing of patterns in all colours, both translucent and opaque, up to a size of 2 meters by 2.5 meters. The research and development team has selected materials that align with the company's commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of its decorations:
• Greenfib: a 100% bio-sourced golden material made from castor oil processed in France
• Everstar: a white composite material created from recycled household appliance waste
• Rainbow: a translucent material made from recycled PET that can display all the colours of the rainbow and diffuses light.
These three materials are recyclable: all production waste, scraps, and elements that are dismantled at the end of their life can be crushed and reused to create new printed decorations.
Preserving resources and raw materials is more important than ever. This is why Leblanc Illuminations implements these solutions, supporting its customers in all their events in the most responsible way possible. It's no coincidence that Leblanc Illuminations is the most certified company in its sector!
